SFP is a small form-factor pluggable module and eSFP is an enhanced small form-factor pluggable module. There is no difference between their major functions and services. They are interchangeable as long as they have the same optical power, sensitivity, and distance. The difference is that the eSFP optical module provides more extra functions than the SFP optical module. For example, the eSFP optical module supports optical power monitoring but the SFP optical module does not support optical power monitoring.

Optcore’s OSP155-3120DCR-HW is a high performance small form factor pluggable (SFP) transceiver for 100BASE-LX Fast Ethernet application. It is fully comply with the SFP Multi-Sourcing Agreement (MSA) and can be used on the MSA compliant networking equipment. The 100BASE-LX SFP transceiver is tested to be compatible with Huawei networking equipment including Ethernet Switches, Ethernet Routers, Network Interface Cards (NICs) and Ethernet Media Converters. The OSP155-3120DCR-HW is an ideal equivalent to Huawei eSFP-FE-LX-SM1310 100BASE-LX SFP module but with much lower price, which provides a reliable compatible SFP optics transceiver solution for system integrator, distributors and end users in network infrastructure and fiber cabling. The 100BASE-FX SFP transceiver consists of the below sections: the LD driver, the limiting amplifier, the FP laser and the PIN photo-detector. The SFP transceiver module is a Class 1 laser product complies with FDA/CDRH and IEC-60825 standards.
